This is a robot I build with Arduino. It's basic behavior makes it drive forward until it detects via ultrasonics an obstacle. At that point it stops and "looks" to the right and left taking distance measurements for each side. Then it turns to the side that has no obstacle or is at the greatest distance and continues driving.
I designed the chassis and the rest of the body parts in Fusion 360 and used a 3D printer to make them. This project has gone through several iterations. The first version was just a sheet of wood and had just 2 motors driving the back wheels. To make it turn on the spot, the latest version has 4 motors (one for each wheel).
